Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Erin Go Bragh! And all that stuff. I know you're wearing your green today right? Unless you're one of those people who likes to be pinched, then go for it. My main rule... no green beer. Nasty. Me? I'm going to see Nonpoint, Cold, Days of Fire and 16 Second Stare at Juanitas tonight. Not sure what it has to do with St. Pat's but he was the patron saint of rocking if I'm not mistaken.

Here's my post with some Irish toasts you can use later and a couple of top 10s. Or maybe you used the toasts before work, who am I to judge?

One of my favorite things about St. Pats is the song "Danny Boy", an Irish anthem of sorts. I just love it for some reason. Here's a couple versions I found for you.

First, a version from the Muppets:

Next, see the beautiful scenery of Ireland while listening to the tenor voice of Michael Londra:

May you live as long as you want,
And never want as long as you live.

Shamrocks And Shenanigans?

The St. Patty's Day fun keeps coming! Meet Everlast, Danny Boy and DJ Lethal... aka House of Pain. These Irish-American rappers had 3 albums out in the early 90s before Everlast decided to go solo. They got their name from from H.G. Wells' The Island of Dr. Moreau. Here's "Shamrocks and Shenanigans."

Pure rap gold my friends...

The House Of Pain's the name of my clique
You can't be down, punk, get off my d%#@
You make me sick, like strawberry Quik
Your style is wack, you ain't the mac
So yo step back, get off the crack
And sing a new tune like boom sha lock lock boom

I would also like to go on record as saying I personally enjoy strawberry Quik.

Tips for St. Patty's Day

Sometimes its tough to know how to drink on St. Patrick's Day when you're not Irish. So Comedy.com brings you 8 tips on on how to celebrate St. Patty's Day like the Irish. I don't want to say this is the greatest video ever made... but it does have beer chugging, some Riverdancing monkeys and a projectile vomiting muppet... so I'll let you figure it out on your own.

Now THIS is Irish

I was trying to come up with music video for the St. Patrick's Day holiday and this one hit me. How about Dropkick Murphys performing "I'm Shipping Up To Boston" on the waterfront in East Boston while hanging with hooligans and runnin' from the cops. That's Irish my friends. I mean, I guess it is anyway. What would I know? I hear the saying "everybody's Irish today" but I really don't subscribe to that theory. I'm American today, just with a green shirt on. Sure I intend to drink a few brews tonight (none green) and maybe slam an Irish Car Bomb, but that doesn't make me Irish... it just makes it Thursday.

So rock this! Sainte!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Well, the fine folks at CollegeHumor.com have outdone themselves this time. Maybe it's just because I'm such a huge fan of Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, but this Nightmare Before St. Patrick's Day video has to be the greatest thing in the history of the holiday. Jack Skellington chugging brews and singing "What's This" with the frat boys? Brilliant. If Sally or Oogie Boogie were in this it'd be perfection.
