It's no secret that one of my favorite new shows the last few years has been Spartacus: Blood and Sand on Starz. Loads of style, violence, sex and nudity... I mean what more could you ask for really? Today the first season is finally out on DVD and Blu-ray and it may end up being the only season with the news over the weekend that the star, Andy Whitfield, has had his cancer come back and filming for season 2 is postponed again. They'd already delayed once and even shot a prequel called Spartacus: Gods of the Arena to hold the fans over (airs in Jan 2011), but the report I read said he's seeking "immediate and agreesive treatment" so that doesn't sound good for him. Too bad as the guy was really just breaking out. Best wishes go his way for sure as he fights a real fight.
