Movie Review: Bread Crumbs

Synopsis: A group of porn filmmakers are systematically attacked by 2 strange and mysterious children on the set of a remote shoot deep in a shadowy forest.

You had me at porn filmmakers! Well, not really, but it did catch my eye. Honestly there's not a whole lot of nudity in this B grade horror flick, but there is some. There's some fun violence though with a few people getting skewered by some arrows, hatcheted and conked over the head with rocks. Most of the gore is pretty tame and even off screen through.

The acting and direction are passable and the story is your typical "group stuck in a cabin getting picked-off by hillbillies" ala the Wrong Turn series meets The Hills Have Eyes. Not to mention they're offended by them sexing each other up, which goes back to everything from Friday The 13th to I don't know what.

What's different? Some wacky bit about Hansel and Gretel and a candy house or something that damned if I could really make any sense of. And bread crumbs? No idea. The protagonists in this case are 2 "kids" and I used the term loosely because they're at least teenagers. The girl does a nice job but the boy wasn't really creepy as much as I just sort of felt sorry for him as he's obviously mentally handicapped more so than evil. I'm scared of all teenagers anyway though so it sort of worked.

My favorite part though? The aging porn queen is retiring. From porn. And she's very sweet and wants to help the poor kids slaughtering them. Awww.

So add in a few plots twists and you got it... a sort of fun little B movie slasher film.

And never shoot a porno where you can't get cell reception would be my tip. If you do, close the shades.
