If you want to know who the original bad boy of music was, perhaps you'll like the new biopic coming out about Hank Williams. It was shot here in Arkansas, Benton mostly I've read, and stars Henry Thomas (E.T.) as Hank. Another Arkansas connection... the director, Harry Thomason, is from Hampton, Arkansas. The filmmakers just announced that "The Last Ride" will screen at the Nashville Film Festival (April 15, 7:45 p.m.) and the movie will open this year's Little Rock Film Festival (June 1st - 5th).
Synopsis: A man hires a kid to drive a legendary country singer to two concerts. Based on the last few days of Hank Williams' life.
Sounds a bit like Get Him To The Greek, but with no Russell Brand and if Aldous Snow didn't actually make it to the show. Plus very old cars.
Jesse James plays the young driver and the very lovely Kaley Cuoco from The Big Bang Theory has a role. Check out the trailer:
