Brooklyn's Finest In Wonderland

Personally, I've got a lot of rock n roll on my slate for the weekend, starting with Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace tonight. I'm also hopefully working in a visit to Sun Studios and Ghost River Brewing while in Memphis seeing Tora Tora tomorrow, plus some good food and drink as usual. When I get back though I want to get out to the theater on Sunday at some point and see either of the 2 new releases today:

Brooklyn's Finest

Synopsis: In Brooklyn, New York, three veteran cops (Richard Gere, Ethan Hawke, and Don Cheadle) struggling with their own personal and professional dilemmas dispatched to a notorious housing project, where they will each collide with destiny.

My Thoughts: You may remember Director Antoine Fuqua from Shooter, Training Day and Tears of the Sun... so you add that to the awesome 3 leads plus Wesley Snipes in this movie and you have "can't miss" in my book. It looks like a similar tone and style to Training Day as well, and that's a great film.

Alice in Wonderland

Synopsis: Director Tim Burton's vision of Lewis Carroll's classic story of 19-year-old Alice's (Mia Wasikowska) return to the magical world from her childhood adventure, where she reunites with her old friends and learns of her true destiny: to end the Red Queen's reign of terror.

My Thoughts: From the previews I've seen, this not only fits Johnny Depp perfectly but I have a feeling Tim Burton and his bizarre ways are right in line with what Lewis Carroll originally intended for this odd tale. Burton rarely misses, and the combination of Burton and Depp never does. This should be awesome.
