So I'm still watching movies from 2009 but I guess I've watched enough to make a few lists. There were quite a few movies towards the end that I wanted to see and never made it out to that could very well have made the list, like The Blind Side, Sherlock Holmes, The Hurt Locker and Invictus... but let's go with what I've got.

Worst Horror Movie: Offspring
Definitely another good year of horror overall, but I had to really search to find it as a lot of my favorites were released straight to DVD. The stuff they're putting in the theaters for the most part is safe, PG-13 teenage "horror" stuff. When a movie series like Twlight, with it's shirtless, sexy boy vampires and werewolves is hot, it's sort of sad to me. I like my vamps and werewolves ripping out people's throats and such, not making out in study hall with cheerleaders. Maybe it's just America though, as my top 2 horror films were both imports. 3 of the top 10 for that matter. And do you notice my list has no remakes? Although it has one movie, [rec], that was remade and Let The Right One In is being remade as you read. That's not to say I didn't really enjoy Friday the 13th, The Last House On The Left and My Bloody Valentine. I actually thought all were really solid R-rated reboots and would love to see more.

So 2 music documentaries in the top 10? Yep. Loved 'em both and enjoyed Bon Jovi: When We Were Beautiful as well. It was a great year for sci-fi as well with Star Trek, District 9 and Avatar all being excellent and I liked 9 too. And before you question whether my movies were all from 2009, just shut up. First, who cares. 2nd, yes, they all were released WIDE in 2009. I can't help it that they release so many at the end of the year so they can make the Oscar list. The day I can see them in my theater or DVD player is the year they're released to me. Sooo... here's some more:

Best Use Of A Ratt Song: Marisa and Mickey dancing in the bar to "Round and Round" in The Wrestler
Best Quote: Alan in The Hangover - "It would be so cool if I could breast-feed."
2nd Best Quote: Peter in I Love You Man: "Slappa da bass! Slappa da bass mon!"
Favorite 3-D Film: My Bloody Valentine (loved Avatar of course, but liked the use of 3-D here better)
Strangest Movie That Was Good: Repo: The Genetic Opera
Best Piss Your Pants Moment: Micah getting flung at the camera in Paranormal Activity
Favorite Actor: Brad Pitt in Inglourious Basterds
Best Movie-Going Experience: Seeing Anvil! The Story of Anvil with guys from the band in the theaters, speaking and rocking afterwards
And finally, here's a few movies that I haven't mentioned above that I dug too, just maybe didn't find a place to put them:
* Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince (I don't read the books, but love the movies)
* Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (yes, I liked it. Sue me)
* Watchmen (I was a geek for the graphic novel and thought this was pretty well done)
* Adventureland (great 80s nostalgia)
* Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (I love these characters)
