Synopsis: Life is wonderful for the people in the quiet, island town of Port Gamble....until a zombie virus outbreak!
Another in the recent long line of zombie/comedy films, which all seem to borrow from each other pretty closely. The best I've seen I think are Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland, and this isn't anywhere near either of those. Nor should it be, as it's pretty much just a low-budget b-movie that would have gone straight-to-dvd if not for After Dark Films. The production values and acting quality are pretty poor I thought, but probably about what I expected.
Other than that, I thought it tried a bit too hard with the humor and satirical bits, and most fell pretty flat. There are a couple of funny moments, mainly the commentary on small town prejudice and homophobia, but I didn't laugh often enough to call it a funny movie.
The gore isn't shocking but usually more comedic and over-the-top. Eyeball-eating and face-ripping are a bit entertaining, but most kills are pretty simple. There is one great kill though when a little girl gets hit by a car (wow, that sounds bad). Also, anytime a guy gets his arm ripped off and beaten with it you gotta give some kudos.
But overall as zombie/comedies go, I didn't hate it but it's a bit dull and derivative to rate any higher to me.
