A boatload of good releases today on the ole new release list. Well, for my tastes anyway... yours may vary. Many of these I've recently posted new videos by or tracks or whatever... so I've conveniently linked those here. See how I am? Always helpful. And a couple of these bands, namely Murderdolls and American Bang, I currently hold tickets to see very soon. It all just comes together so nicely on new release day. I stuck a few news bits at the end on other favorites, so check those out too. Or don't.
* Sons of Anarchy Season 2 DVD
* Disturbed ~ "Asylum" CD (see blog here... the deluxe edition comes with a 70 minute documentary Decade of Disturbed)
* Murderdolls ~ "Women and Children Last" CD (see blog here)
* 10 Years ~ "Feeding the Wolves" CD
* American Bang ~ "American Bang" CD (see blog here)
* American Sixgun ~ "Gypsy Circus & The Southern Wind Vol I & II" CD
* Stereoside ~ "Stereoside" CD
* Atom Smash ~ "Love is in the Missile" CD (see blog here)
* Goo Goo Dolls ~ "Something for the Rest of Us" CD
* Papa Roach ~ "Time for Annihilation…" CD (see blog here)
* Heart ~ "Red Velvet Car" CD (their first album since 2004) CD
* House Season 6 DVD
* UFC 115: Liddell v. Franklin DVD (Chuck's final fight? Let's hope so)
* I read where Ozzy Osbourne’s camp is already re-releasing his "Scream" CD on October 5th. The new edition has three new studio tracks, “One More Time”, “Jump the Moon” and “Hand of the Enemy”, and four live tracks, “Bark at the Moon”, “Let Me Hear You Scream”, “No More Tears” and the Black Sabbath classic “Fairies Wear Boots”. I haven't heard whether the live tracks have Gus G on guitar but I would assume so. Doesn't seem right for him to play "No More Tears" but the dude can shred so I want to hear it. And usually the labels wait a year or so before the double-dip, but not this time. If it pisses you off, don't buy it I guess.
* And there's a "new" or actually just previously unreleased Pantera track called "The Will to Survive" streaming on their Facebook page. It's from the pcoming 20th Anniversary edition of one of the great albums of all-time, "Cowboys From Hell," which is due out on September 14th.
* Speaking of Pantera, David Ellefson (Megadeth) and Tim "Ripper" Owens (Iced Earth, Beyond Fear, Judas Priest) recorded a song called "Leave It Alone" several years ago for a Dimebag Darrell memorial disc that has yet to be released. The song is available exclusively on iTunes now.
* Lastly, I just read where Sammy Hagar told Billboard.com that Chickenfoot has completed four songs and is "seven pieces of new music" into its second album. The band is now waiting for drummer Chad Smith to get a break his regular gig with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Cool.
