Pretty cool card on Versus tonight as the UFC has it's first show ever on the network. The exciting name they've come up with is "UFC on Versus 1". There's not only a huge main event between Brandon "The Truth" Vera and Johnny "Bones" Jones but a big heavyweight war between 2 big Brazilians, Gabriel Gonzaga and Junior Dos Santos. There's also a couple of interesting fights as Cheick Kongo battles Paul Buentello and James Irvin faces off with Alessio Sakara. And it's not on pay-per-view! Hooray!So many cards have been on TV lately that the PPVs aren't nearly as appealing to me as they once were. I've gotten a couple this year, but gone are the days when I get every PPV. The level of talent in the UFC is so deep now that tonight's top 2 fights could easily be PPV main events in my opinion anyway.
My picks: Kongo wins... Sakura wins... Gonzaga tries to stand and trade with Junior Dos Santos and gets KO'd... and Jones and Vera go the distance, with Jones getting his hand raised at the end.
